MINISTRIES OVERVIEW

Grace has a variety of ministries to help us accomplish our mission of Making disciples of Christ in a caring, loving, relational environment, to share in God's mission to the world. Some of these ministries are designed to help us worship. Some are designed to help us grow in our relationship with God and each other. Some are designed to help meet the needs of people in our local community, and even around the world. COMMUNITY MINISTRIES

Jim Bridger School

Grace ministering to a local school.

Members and friends of Grace assist Bridger School in a variety of ways. Each month we help to setup and distribute food at Bridger Harvest Share (a program of the Oregon Food Bank).

Family Promise Metro East

Grace ministering to the homeless.

Grace Baptist is a member of Family Promise Metro East. Family Promise of Metro East (serving NE & SE Portland, Oregon) helps our community coordinate their compassion to address the root causes of family homelessness. Our goal is to address the issue holistically, providing prevention services before families reach crisis, shelter and case management when they become homeless, and stabilization programs once they have secured housing to ensure they remain independent. We tap existing local resources to empower families towards economic stability. Families come to us in crisis; we help them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH MINISTRIES

Sunday School

9:30 am Sunday Mornings

During Sunday School we offer classes for adults and children. In the adult classes you might study a book of the Bible, or a book written to help you grow in your faith. In the children's classes Bible stories are shared and many times there are craft projects which flow from the lesson. Sunday School runs September-May

Bible Study

First and Third Wed night at 7 pm

Bible study is where we dig deep into God's word. There is a leader, but the session is built mostly around group discussion. In a given night the group may cover a few verses of scripture, or maybe even only one word. But whatever is covered, we allow God's word to speak into our lives through the Holy Spirit.

Special Events or Studies

Various Times During the Year

During the year we have a variety of special events or studies. In the past we have had an evangelism conference, Lent studies, Advent studies, and a study on prayer. Each of these events are put together with the thought in mind of contributing to each believer's personal growth.

WORSHIP MINISTRIES

Praise Team Members

Help to lead worship through music.

Our Praise Team is always looking for musicians and singers. Has God blessed you with the gift of music? We would love to use your gift in worship to bring glory to God.

Worship Support Team

Help support worship in a variey of ways.

It takes a whole team of people to make the worship experience the best it can be. We can always use sound board technicians, persons to run the video we use on Sunday morning, greeters, ushers, and communion servers.

GLOBAL MINISTRIES

Sarah Matos

Missionary Support

Through International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches USA we support 1800 volunteer, short-term, and long-term missionaries in 70 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Working with local believers, missionaries work to meet the needs of people they are working with and share the Good News of Christ to transform their lives.

At Grace we are helping to get a new missionary on the mission field. Sarah Matos is working in Bolivia to assist in dental clinics and help children in a neighborhood center. Each dollar given in support of Sarah through Grace is matched by Grace.
