At some point I am going to have to do some research on the parable of the marriage feast. I understand the first part of the parable, but I don’t get the part about the guest not having a wedding garment. Anyone know?
In a previous blog I wondered about the fact that God said he was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and then declared that He was the God of the living and not the dead. Reading The Message has given me a possible insight: God said “I AM the God of A, I and J”. That means first that he IS living and that they are also, which of course we believe today. However, in that time the afterlife and eternity were fuzzy concepts.
