September 21- John 21

When Peter asked Jesus about John’s fate, Jesus turned back to Peter and said that is none of your business, take care of what you have to do, “Follow me.”  I think that is a lesson we can all learn.  Too often we are more concerned about what others are doing, rather than worrying about what we are doing.  I guess it is easier to focus on what others are doing than on what I am doing.

One Response to September 21- John 21

  1. Sharon Owen says:

I noticed two things today. First, John either had much better eye sight than Peter and the others in the boat, or he was just that sensitive to Jesus. I like to think it was the latter. It was he who announced to Peter that “It is the Lord!”

Secondly, yesterday I noticed that the end of Chapter 20 sounded like the end of the book–that maybe Chapter 21 was added later or as an afterthought. The endings of both chapters refer to the fact that John did not write huge numbers of events as he could have, but picked and chose those events that could be related in a reasonably sized document but would still provide the important aspects of Jesus and His ministry.
