As I read this short letter this morning, a lot of questions came to mind. We have discussed the issue of who this letter might have been written to. The thing I noticed this morning is John says this lady is “chosen by God.” My question is chosen for what? Is he talking about her salvation, or is he talking about a greater mission God has for this lady? Also, when John talks of her children is he talking about her biological children or spiritual children. Then later in the letter when he talks of her “the children of your sister” is he talking biological or spiritual? So many questions without firm answers.
