Oct. 21- Ch. 21

As I was reading this passage this morning, I happened to think about all of God’s timing going into Christ crucifixion and resurrection.  If this event would have happened at any other time of the year, those around to witness it would be far less in numbers.

  1. Sharon Owen says:

Today I noticed verse 43 where Jesus said that “the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.” He was speaking to the Jews and about us. Have we produced that fruit? Have I produced that fruit?

  2. Larry Martin says:

In verse 43 I notice it says nation. The nation of Israel looked upon itself as the chosen people. We as Christians look upon ourselves as the chosen people. I see the nation as referring to a people that feel entitled in some way. Being a Christian does not guarantee that the kingdom of God will be ours nor is it for all Christians. I believe if one has faith in God and bears fruit in their life of that belief the kingdom of God will be given unto them. Verse 43 says to me that the kingdom of God is not just reserved for a chosen people such as the Jews or Christians, but for anyone believing in God and bearing the fruit of that belief in their life. The question you ask Sharon is important and one we all need to ask. Much of the fruit we each produce because of our belief I at least do not see myself as producing. I have been told by others that it is there even though I may not see it.
