Aug. 21- Ch. 21

After Jesus tells the parable of the tenants, no one, not even his disciples ask him what it means. The scripture says even the chief priests and Pharisees knew he was talking about them. Maybe the disciples were finally getting it!

  1. Larry Martin says:

The withering of the fig tree is scary. I look upon this as the purpose of the fig tree was to produce fruit. It did not. When Jesus saw it did not do what it was created for He judged and passed sentence on it, “let no fuit grow on you ever again.” We as humans were created to be in relationship with God. When we accept Christ we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us in that walk with God. If we do not then walk with him but just look pretty producing no fruit that we are in relationship with God will we have that relationship taken from us? Will we then wither? Is this part of the judgement? I do not have answers to those questions.
