July 25- Ch. 25

In chapter 25 Jesus is still telling parables about the kingdom of heaven.  But there is a bit of a shift, v1- ““At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like…”  I am not sure what the difference for Jesus is between present day and future day kingdom of heaven, but the way he words v. 1 seems to indicate there is a difference.  Any thoughts?

Now that you brought it up, he uses that term in Chapter 24, verse 30 when he is talking about the return of the Son of Man. And you are right that in the earlier chapters he speaks of the Kingdom as though it were present or about to be. I would suggest that, like some of the prophecies, his words refer to an immediate future and a longer-term future. But he also probably means that the Kingdom is present now–God’s kingdom of which we are the populace and the servant workers.
